About
My first introduction to painting, I can't really classify this as art, was at the approximate age of 5 or 6 when I discovered a tin of paint in the garden shed, was unable to find any brushes but newspaper obviously acted as a good substitute nd then proceeded to 'paint' the shed. This prompted my mother to buy me my first box of paints which gave me many hours of pleasure.
Although I never opted for art as a subject at school, I was always keen to participate in any competiitons and exhibitions that my school organised. My work at the time was predominantly pencil sketches of downland scenes. Many years elapsed before I reintroduced myself to the art world and enrolled on evening courses at our local Community College concentrating on watercolour techniques.
I have exhibited, as a guest artist, at Gallery North, Hailsham, the Arts Trail during the Hailsham Arts Festivals for several years and at the Hailsham Twinning Association exhibition in Gournay-en-Bray, France.
